Gang life, the British way

American servers have cartels and motorcycle clubs. British GTA roleplay has postcodes, colours and the drill scene. Here is how gang life actually works on a UK FiveM server, from your first day to running a block.

01 / The difference

Postcodes, not cartels

UK gang RP is built on territory at street scale. A crew is defined by its block, its colours and its people, and conflict is personal: a corner disrespected, a chain snatched, a name called out. The drill culture backdrop gives it a language and a sound the American servers simply do not have.

02 / Day one

Placement, not applications

On DRILL UK you do not fill in a form to join a gang. Early in your first session someone has the placement conversation with you: which crew suits you, or which job if the legitimate side calls. You start the game already belonging somewhere, with people who notice when you log in. The full picture is on the gangs page.

Everyone knows who stands where before a word is said.

03 / Colours

Wearing it means something

Colours are law here, literally. Under the server's gang rules, crew members act together only when wearing two or more matching gang clothing items, so the uniform is not cosmetic: it declares who stands with whom in every scene. Shouting "[Gang] K" at a crew is initiation on that gang under the rules, so colours are the first thing anyone reads about you.

04 / Conflict

How wars actually work

Gang conflict runs on the same initiation rules as everything else, with gang-specific additions: initiation covers one block for two minutes, and allied crews may only join if they are present and declared before it starts. No mid-fight cavalry, no endless re-escalation, because the new life rule still applies after death. The exact wording lives in the gang rules, and if terms like initiation are new, the rules guide translates them.

The gang rules, word for word

Gang initiation covers one block and lasts two minutes, counted from each time initiation happens. Every fresh initiation restarts the two minutes, and the fight is over once two minutes pass with none.
Only members of the same gang wearing two or more matching gang clothing items may act together.
Allied gangs may only get involved if they are present and clearly declared together before initiation starts.
Announcing allied involvement after initiation has started does not count.

How crews rise

Crews on DRILL UK progress by putting the work in week after week: activity on the streets, moves on the map, holding what is theirs. Reputation is the real currency. The names that matter in the city earned it over months, and new crews break in by being present, organised and worth taking seriously. Ask around the Discord and you will hear which names carry weight this season; the roster changes, which is exactly the point.

Your way in.

Turn up, get placed, wear the colours, learn the rules, and be someone a crew wants standing next to them. That is genuinely the whole path. It starts with joining the server.
