Drill UK / Rules

Server rules

The rules keep the city fair and worth living in. Reading them is your job: not knowing a rule is never an excuse. Staff decide on evidence, reports and a second opinion where a call is close, and their decision is final. Behaviour that is clearly unfair, disruptive, abusive, or against the spirit of roleplay can be punished even if no line below names it.

01 / Reporting

How to report

Press T, type /report, press Enter. Every report needs a two-minute clip of the incident. NVIDIA GeForce Experience, AMD Radeon Software, Medal and Insights.gg all record fine.

Staff act on reports rather than patrolling for trouble, but they will step in unprompted when something serious happens or behaviour is damaging the server.

02 / General rules

The lines everyone follows

No RDM (random deathmatch)

  • Force needs a valid roleplay reason.
  • Threats and demands come before triggers, every time.
  • No revenge RDM. If you were killed without initiation, clip it and report it.
  • Toxic behaviour earns community service or a ban, whichever fits.

EMS are off limits

  • No killing, robbing or kidnapping EMS.
  • No stealing their vehicles.

New life rule (ten real minutes)

  • Death wipes the memory: you remember nothing from that life.
  • Leave the area you died in and stay away for the duration.
  • No revenge kills.

Out of character

  • No real-life threats of any kind: family, doxxing, suicide threats.
  • Rules talk stays out of active roleplay. Use the report command instead.

Server basics

  • A working microphone is required.
  • Create a proper character; default characters are not allowed.
  • No combat logging.
  • No revenge pushing.
  • No stream sniping.
  • No advertising or soliciting.

No VDM (vehicle deathmatch)

  • Cars are not weapons: no deliberately running people down.
  • No repeated ramming for attention.

Fail RP and cop baiting

  • Do not wreck scenes on purpose.
  • Do not break character to argue rules.
  • No manufactured police chases: give police two minutes of verbal roleplay before anything kicks off.

Also banned

  • ERP. Forcing it is a permanent ban.
  • Powergaming: running into greenzones, camping, or baiting.
  • Blindfire and Q-peeking.
  • Animation exploits.
  • Metagaming: reading IDs, Discord calls, sharing advantageous information while dead, or bringing out-of-character knowledge into roleplay.
  • Respawning during an active scene.
  • Disrespecting staff.
  • Unrealistic driving: off-roading without a proper vehicle, random stunts.
  • Abusing the /dv or/me commands.
  • Forcing hostages to withdraw money at a bank.
  • Kill on sight only exists in redzones and under gang turf rules.
  • No harassing women. The city is female-friendly by design.
  • No radios or digital comms while cuffed.
  • No impersonating police or EMS.

03 / Initiation

When a fight is allowed to start

  • Aiming a weapon is initiation. That includes at police, and police may shoot if threatened.
  • Verbal disrespect counts: shouting "[Gang] K" at someone is initiation on that gang.
  • FearRP: outnumbered three or more to one by armed players, you comply. Unarmed, you comply in every situation.
  • A taser never trumps a gun. If a gun is on you, you comply.

What counts as initiation

  • Aiming a weapon.
  • Shooting tyres, provided the driver gets a chance to act.
  • Lockpicking or stealing a car.
  • Tasing.
  • Punching or ramming.
  • Ramming an occupied car two or more times.

Phone snatching

A snatched phone gives you two minutes of initiation on the snatcher. Catch them or kill them inside that window and the phone comes back. After two minutes it is gone; buy a replacement from Click Lovers.

04 / Gangs

Gang conduct

  • Gang initiation lasts two minutes and covers one block.
  • Only members of the same gang wearing two or more matching gang clothing items may act together.
  • Allied gangs may only get involved if they are present and clearly declared together before initiation starts.
  • Announcing allied involvement after initiation has started does not count.

05 / Robberies

Robberies and hostages

  • Outside shooters: three at most for banks, two for jewellery heists, none for stores, petrol stations or the museum.
  • Only one robbery at a time.
  • Outside shooters must be announced to police.
  • Hostage limits: fifteen minutes for civilians. Police can be held for thirty, or longer if everyone agrees.
  • No fake hostages, and compliant hostages do not get killed.
  • Initiate with three guns before tying or bagging anyone.
  • Green ID means unrobbable. Everyone else, gang or civilian, is fair game.
  • Sixty minutes before you rob the same person again.
  • Taking a hostage requires at least five police officers on duty.

Where robbery is off the table

  • No robbing players at banks, in greenzones, or at job sites. At job locations, move on and let people work.
  • No robbing police officers.

06 / Taxing and washes

Drug and money wash taxing

  • One gang taxes a location at a time.
  • Taxing needs two or more members present.
  • The cap is $200,000.
  • Give people the chance to pay or leave.
  • No waiting outside for enemies.
  • Refusing tax is not a death sentence: instruct them to leave, do not kill them.
  • No hostages inside the wash.
  • No AFK farming at drug locations.

07 / Zones

Redzones

  • RDM is allowed.
  • Entering a redzone is automatic two-minute initiation.
  • The new life rule does not apply inside.
  • Dead players stay silent: no tactical information.
  • No bulletproof car exploits.

Purple zones

  • Zone owners may kill on sight inside, no initiation needed.
  • Everyone else follows normal initiation rules.
  • Police are not kill on sight unless they initiate first.
  • EMS enter only after combat has cleared.

08 / Community

Expectations and zero tolerance

Banter, jokes and heated roleplay are welcome while everyone involved is comfortable. Know the difference between roleplay and genuinely targeting someone. If a player asks you to stop, you stop immediately; carrying on after that invites staff action. Handle small things maturely where you can, and staff will handle the rest.

Zero tolerance language

The following is banned everywhere Drill UK exists: voice, text, usernames, character names, Discord, and any other platform connected to the server.

  • Racist language, slurs, stereotypes or hate speech.
  • Homophobic or transphobic slurs, insults or targeted abuse.
  • Slurs or insults aimed at disabilities, learning difficulties or mental health.
  • Anything encouraging self-harm or suicide, or telling someone to harm themselves.

Dodging filters with creative spelling is treated as the same offence. Zero tolerance language brings immediate punishment, up to and including a permanent ban. These rules move when the community needs them to.

09 / Store

Store terms

  • Purchases are final. No refunds.
  • A ban does not entitle you to a refund.
  • All items are digital, have no real-world value, and cannot be resold or traded.
  • Lost items are not refunded.
  • Store items cannot be transferred, sold or gifted.
